Four-alarm grudge
Portland city administrator Raymond Lee must have had his ear ringing the other night. And not his good ear. His name came up again at the City Council meeting in Greeley, Colorado, where he used to work. A guy from the firefighters' union got up and said how nice it was to work with other people. The short speech starts at 22:09 of the meeting video, here.

Was just in northern CO last week and asked around. As far as I could tell from informal conversations everyone there is glad to be rid of him. Once again Portlandia is overcome with incompetence.
ReplyDeleteI used to think that corrupt behavior and incompetence were in two different universes.
ReplyDeleteNow why was this guy the best choice to run Portland? Couldn't possibly be an EQUITY hire, could it? Maybe they thought vetting a candidate only applies to dogs?
ReplyDeleteDEI strikes again. Where will white guilt end?
ReplyDeleteWhen the last sheep is shorn...
DeleteOh interesting...Did Lee not know that it had to go to a vote, or did he know it & decided to just skip that step-?! Either way looks bad.
ReplyDeleteLee also got smacked a little by Elena Pirtle-Girney at the Portland Council meeting & vote on the budget, this week. She remarked that while City bureaus are having to cut their budgets, his-own office is doing the opposite.
He's got a whole entourage who were let go when he left Greeley. I'm sure they're on their way to Portland City Hall.
DeleteOh yikes, good point. We'll have to do some googling on his new hires, to see where they came from.
DeleteIf you get the names of those hires, please do share them with me.
