The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog2@gmail.com and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I had searched the Astorian before I posted this, but could not find it.
DeleteCannon Beach is a microcosm of Oregon. His view on sanctuary politics won’t sit well with most residents.
ReplyDeleteHe seems to be a job-hopper, and no, he didn't 'start a campground business' in Gearhart, he bought a longtime business, Bud's (anybody at the Astorian would know that, why would they print something like that-?!).
ReplyDeleteSeems doubtful he could beat Javadi, as campaigns / fundraising have been underway for a while.
The really interesting question is why no Democrat stepped up to run against Javadi. If you look at what he has said and voted for, it's incredible that he didn't attract any opposition. I assume as part of the deal with his switch, he was guaranteed no primary opponent.
ReplyDeleteNobody stepped-up to run. I'm a Dem, in his district, and was closely following this & hoping for a real-Democrat to primary him, but the Clatsop Dems say nobody tried.
DeleteIf we want to attract good candidates (I know nothing about this guy), let them speak. Trying to shut up somebody because they have a job is another indication we've become a nanny state of cry babies- even if worded in legalese.
