Godot checks in
I got a response from the Portland City Hall public record hiders on Wednesday about my follow-up to the request I made on December 17, seeking records regarding the $535,000 compensation package being paid to the new city manager, Raymond Lee III:
P15****-****26 refers to the payment you made on 1/22/26 and is not a separate request. The deposit you paid is credited toward the correct request.
Due to the large number of records in this request, we are still currently working on your request and will contact you when the records are available. Thank you for your patience while we continue to fill your request.
Wow, there's a "large number of records"? I can't wait to see them all.
Oregon law (ORS 192.329(5)) states:
As soon as reasonably possible but not later than 10 business days after the date by which a public body is required to acknowledge receipt of the request under ORS 192.324 (Copies or inspection of public records), a public body shall:
(a) Complete its response to the public records request; or
(b) Provide a written statement that the public body is still processing the request and a reasonable estimated date by which the public body expects to complete its response based on the information currently available.
Even if you don't count any of the time before I paid my hefty deposit for these records, which they refused to waive, it's been 25 business days. And counting.

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!
ReplyDeleteThere's GOTTA be something in the morass...all pointing to a complete lack of due diligence on the part of our DEI-besotted mayor.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you now should do a new records request - for any internal emails/communications about you & your request...
