Bentz bucks the Trumpies

The vote to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol riot passed the House easily this evening. On the Republican side, 175 members voted against the commission, but 34 joined Liz Cheney in voting for it.

Among the Republicans voting yes was Jaime Herrera Beutler from Vancouver. This was no surprise, in that JHB has been distancing herself from the GOP "leadership" for a while now.

But lo and behold, the new Oregon Republican in the House, Cliff Bentz, voted yes as well. Interesting! And good for him. I can't imagine his predecessor, Greg Walden, ever showing that much spine.

  1. That vote might not play well in “Greater Idaho”.

  2. I'm sure they are going to get to the bottom of this just as effectively as they investigated 9/11- which by the way took over TWO YEARS to even get started and even the two heads of the committee said was a complete sham. Not a word in the report about WTC building 7 and no interviews with first responders for just two blatant examples.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
