The party line
My local Democratic Party representative came by on this beautiful afternoon and left a flyer hanging on the doorknob. On one side were the Democratic candidates, who stand zero chance of losing. On the other side was an endorsement of all these ballot measures, most of which I'm voting against.
I was a party precinct committeeperson for a couple of years. I thought I would be part of a deliberative body, but a lot of it was cheerleading for whatever foolishness came out of Salem and the reigning local bureaucracies. Critical thinking was not a useful skill for the job.
I can't stand Trump and the Republicans, but I also don't buy a lot of this stuff. Vote blue, but use some common sense when you flip the ballot over to the propositions.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
