Meaningless milestone
Sometime this past week, this blog passed the 5-million-eyeball mark, as counted by Google. Each eyeball is supposed to represent a page view, but in recent weeks some sort of 'bot has been relentlessly crawling this site, over and over, at all hours of the day or night. Thousands upon thousands of "hits" noted by the blog program are not actual visits by humans. And so the number supplied by Google is quite bogus.
That said, there are hundreds of real individuals who actually do check in here now and then, and some even contribute great commentary of their own. To you folks, however many you are, I'm grateful.

We're grateful for the forum to let out our piss and vinegar
ReplyDeleteYour blog was recommended to me by a fellow conservative. I’ve enjoyed it for a couple of decades.
ReplyDeleteLately, my short term memory has found me opening the blog more than once a day. I hope that hasn’t screwed up the click count.
Ha ha! No worries. The traffic I’m concerned about is coming from some sort of ‘bot. Thousands of hits a day.
