Your DOGE dug a big hole
A new report from the federal Treasury Department's inspector general shows that the first year of Trump 2.0 resulted in a gutting of the personnel resources of the IRS.
Among those leaving were many senior people with many years of experience at the agency.
I'm sure the MAGA crowd is applauding, but this is really bad for the tax system, and in turn, like so many of their agenda items, really bad for the country. Down go tax revenues, down goes taxpayer assistance, up goes fraud, up goes the deficit. Only billionaires, crooks, or both will benefit. The regular person's money will continue to go to the IRS before the taxpayer even sees it.
Owning the libs is going to come at a steep cost to future generations of Americans, of all political stripes. Putin and Xi couldn't have done it better.
This year, I received my federal tax return in six days from electronical filing date. This was the fastest by two weeks. I will take the DOGE cuts to the IRS.

DeleteApparently you weren't the only one complaining, they're now "rushing" to re-fill 1000s of positions. But as you said, with many senior / experienced folks leaving, that's a brain-drain that can't be replaced. Plus it's being suggested that they'll be hiring loyalists to Trump's agenda.

Of course they will. They're wrecking the IRS just like they've wrecked the DOJ. Trump pardoned himself. Putin won, friends.
