Ink on paper

This weekend I received a remarkable surprise gift. It is a book, created by my daughter, of photos I took in the early 2000s, along with selected posts from the original iteration of this blog, some of which date back to July 2002. That was a fun era in so many ways. Here on the internet, there was no social media yet except for the bloggers, who compared to today's universe of posters were a rare breed. It was the readership that made the whole thing work, and that's still true in today's much different climate. Leafing through a print edition of the early days has stirred up some ghosts, that's for sure. A shout out to anybody from those halcyon days who's still around in the current old-guy phase.

  1. Used to post on your blog four or five times a week. Enjoyed every moment..

Before doxing became a social exercise, I signed with my name.

  3. I go back to the old days! You made a real difference in local issues and politics along with Phil Stanford and all of us “old guys”.
I like to think that some folks in local
Government still listened to constituents back then…

  5. I believe back in those days there was a guy signed in as “old guy on the coast” who chimed in often, so enjoying following you.

    1. I knew him in real life, too, for a long time. A wonderful guy.

  6. Think any readers will do anything like this for anyone writing at WillyWeek or the O?

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog2@gmail.com and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
