The wrecking ball is swinging harder and wider
I'll admit it when I'm wrong. A year ago, I took a long break from blogging because I was predicting that the second administration of Mudface Caligula would require dwelling on a new outrage every single day.
I was dead wrong about that.
We're now up to three outrages every single day. You open up the news and see:
"You can't vote unless you're on the White House-approved list."
"I'll be attending Supreme Court oral arguments to put pressure on the Justices."
And my new favorite:
"Give us a list of all your Jews."
I was right about one thing, though: The United States in being run by an incontinent, vicious, lunatic dictator who is destroying our institutions, trashing our alliances, and wiping out our values. He has spun completely out of control, and it's only going to get worse.
With this horrible little man doing his bidding, Putin has defeated America.
And who in the Republican Party is calling our Dear Leader out? Chris Dudley? Christine Drazan? Cliff Bentz? Bruce Starr? Kevin Mannix? Kim Thatcher? Fred Girod? None of the above. They're all complicit.
No decent person would want anything to do with this horror show. Do not forget, friends. No Republicans, for anything, ever again.

Thank you, Jack, for two reasons. First, you feel my outrage. And second, you're making me realize I need to write that outrage, now or very soon. It needs to be my best. If this keeps up, we won't have the opportunity to write our best much longer. God bless. --Jim O'D. (jimodonnell.com)
ReplyDeleteDo it, my good man. And I sure hope I get to read it.
DeleteI appreciate that. You definitely will get to read it. Stay well--and pissed-off.
DeleteThank you Jack!
ReplyDeleteYou are giving Trump way to much credit for running the show. He is an actor and a really bad one at this point. Our system has been broken for a long, long time. They brought in FDR to try to smooth over the mess they made after leveraging the dollar into a death spiral. FDR was the frontman for the banking class, as he was from that same class. I don't see any president that was free to do his own thing (or without getting their head blown off.).
ReplyDeleteTrump is intentionally playing a character that is purposely designed to either totally piss you off, or cheer for him- to create ultimate emotional polarity and keep us all divided.
It is coming from Moscow. And I don't mean Idaho.
DeleteTotally agree, BoJack , thank you. And feeling your pain. I scroll-thru headlines & try to have a little laugh at some of the idiocy, until I spot a gut-punch like - as you said - the govt demanding lists of Jews (and a judge going along with it).
ReplyDeleteI listened to most of the oral arguments on birthright citizenship this morning. I only missed two brief portions when I got up to make coffee. 7 Justices, both liberal & conservative, wiped the floor with the Solicitor General. Only Sedition Sam & Crooked Clarence favored the government argument...no surprise there. The Chief Justice was particularly harsh...basically calling the government's arguments nonsense.
ReplyDeletedumbf didn't do himself any favors by showing up for a front-row seat to try to intimidate the Justices either (co-equal branch & all that...stuff dumbf has not ever understood). Take heart!
No, there's no taking heart until he is gone. I pray for it every day. We are losing our country. It cannot take much more.
DeleteBoy! Howdy! I agree with you but if you don't take heart your only solution will be to eat the business end of a handgun.
DeleteRepublicans in Oregon think this is their year.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to see why... Kotek has been a failure. The DSA loons on the Portland City Clowncil are about to pass a "utility fee" (a non-triggering euphemism for "road tax") to drive on Portland streets. The State Legislature gave a zillion dollars to a billionaire loan shark to renovate the Moda Center on the off-hand proposition that he won't move the Blazers to Lower Slobovia, TX.
DeleteInquiring minds want to know "What happened to all the $0.10/gal gas tax money that Steve Novick promised was the answer to Portland road repair?"
Don’t think it’ll happen until the press starts doing their job.
DeleteThe Republicans are going to get their heads handed to them this year, in Oregon and elsewhere. As they so richly deserve. If you are still a Republican at this point, there is something seriously wrong with you.
