Giving the bully their lunch
There are a lot of angry young Democrats in America on this dark November night. The senators of their party are caving in to Trump and his ruthless sub-goons. A bunch of gaslight excuses are being offered, but they aren't fooling anyone. All of the pain inflicted by the government shutdown turned out to be for nothing.
You have to wonder what sense it makes to have a filibuster rule in the Senate when only one party has the smarts and the guts to use it. The Republicans would never have a half-dozen or more senators break ranks. Maybe one or two, like McCain toward the end, but those people know how to stay in a line and goosestep in unison.
And so now, just when it looked as though it might get some power back, the Democratic Party is going to splinter, and badly. Eventually the socialist kids will take over, as they have in Portland and New York City, but that's going to take some time. And when they do get the reins, their Marxist spiel is not going to play in the swing states. Get used to looking at J.D. and Lil' Marco. They're going to be around for quite a while, I'm afraid.
By the time the blue ship is righted, the American experiment will long be over. It already is over, if truth be told. Putin won.
The lefties have every right to be outraged by the traitors in the Senate. They are poster children for the follies of the two-party system. It doesn't help to speculate on the defectors' reasons. Whatever may be motivating them, these folks deserve nothing but scorn for the rest of their worthless careers.
- Tim Kaine, Democrat, Virginia
- Catharine Cortez Masto, Democrat, Nevada
- John Fetterman, Democrat, Pennsylvania
- Maggie Hassan, Democrat, New Hampshire
- Dick Durbin, Democrat, Illinois
- Angus King, Independent, Maine
- Jeanne Shaheen, Democrat, New Hampshire
- Jacky Rosen, Democrat, Nevada

There is a typo in your post: the word after “Fetterman” is misspelled as “Democrat.”
ReplyDeleteI blame Newsweek for the error. Also for the implied premise that he's on the same planet as we are.
Deletehmmm. I dunno Jack.
ReplyDeleteGatsby's red line has "always been lowering health care costs"......while Junior was voting no “with every fiber of my being.” . I get it, but at some point pragmatism has to come into play: 750,000+ in Oregon are affected by the the SNAP holdup versus 140,000 Oregonians losing ACA subsidies.
Maybe better to live to fight another day?
