But her emails!

The font of good things known as Multnomah County Chair Jessica "Chevy" Vega Pederson never stops flowing. This week we learn that the county government is being sued by a disgruntled former staff member of hers. The ex-aide says she was told to use the chair's private email account when doing county business, then retaliated against when she said something about it.

The story in the O is behind the Paywall of Pity, but the guts of it is as follows:

Tabitha Jensen, who currently runs the county’s Youth and Family Services Division, first brought her concerns to county officials in May 2024, after she was allegedly asked to use Vega Pederson’s personal email address to communicate with her, according to the lawsuit and a statement from her attorney, Michael Fuller.

The lawsuit, filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Tuesday, does not say which county officials requested that Jensen use the chair’s personal email address. It alleges that the county concealed information on personal email accounts and phone numbers when responding to public records requests.

In addition to being incompetent, is Dear Leader also being underhanded about public records? If the plaintiff in the lawsuit doesn't get paid, I guess we're all going to see.

Jensen is being ousted from her temporary management job and replaced by Lori Stegmann, the term-limited non-entity who as a county commissioner has always voted Pederson's way. Stegmann is about as qualified to replace Jensen as you or I.

I hope the county attorney fights Jensen's retaliation case all the way to the Supreme Court. I've got plenty of popcorn.

Meanwhile, now that the election is over, Dear Leader and her misguided minions are back to handing out tarps and tents to every junkie who steps off the bus in Portland.

The cost for tents in 2025 is estimated at $230,000 to cover 6,500 tents. Once these tents are available, Julia Comnes with the county said the Joint Office of Homeless Services will resume distribution.

The new mayor, Keith Wheelerson, doesn't like it. Most people don't. And you know what? Tough noogies. Chevy's the boss for another two years.

  1. More tents and tarps?.....what could possibly go wrong? Prolonging this cancerous blight is sinful and unacceptable. As usual, nothing is happening very gradually. Same-old-same-old.

  2. Now why would you want to use a private email address?...

  3. Pretty obvious that the tarps 'n' tents were a wakeup call to new capon-mayor Wilson who has been yapping about putting Homelessness Inc. out of business.
If anyone thinks that the soocialists and racial nonprofit votes on council will go along with leaving the bureaucrats with nothing to do is fooling themselves. The homeless will be ever with us.

  4. Why the heck is the county limiting themselves to 6500 tents? Walmart has the basic Coleman 4-person tents for around $99! Even with shipping, they should be able to get 15,000 to 18,000 tents. Talk about your underachieving!

    1. I'm sure they've found some way to pay $500 per tent, and let a nonprofit skim off the extra $400.

    2. Your tax dollars at work. Just remember, this is what your neighbors voted for. Don't like the results, mobilize others who want to make it better. While you're busy working, the losers and grifters in the community are working to get an elected position. It's the only kind of job they could ever get that pays as well.

    3. The cost of tents, pulse the cost of delivering them in a new sprinter type van, fully stocked with food, sleeping bags and tents etc.
      With 2 to 4 employees.
The next day the camper moves on leaving it all behind.

That is what happened near my house.

  5. As the recent election shows, none of this will matter and this clown will coast to reeelction.

  6. Public opinion about county leadership would change if the county were required to silkscreen its logo on each tent that it distributes, below the words "This Tent Paid For By The Tax Dollars Of."

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
