Flunking out
I was starting to come around to thinking that maybe I have to vote for former Mayor Sam Adams for Multnomah County commission, because even though he's a fool and pretty creepy, he's better than the alternative. The alternative is Shannon Singleton, who's been involved in the atrocious "work" of the "joint office of homeless services," which I think means they sit around smoking joints all day.
The numbers from the primary heavily favored Singleton, but I was thinking that maybe the electorate will come around to see she's just going to be more of the same on the dysfuctional county board. Adams is clearly the lesser of the two evils, and if enough people see that, with a big enough clothespin on their nose...
Well, any such faint glimmer of hope was snuffed out yesterday when I learned that Adams failed to get his entry into the voter's pamphlet on time. He won't be in that publication, and thus his slim chances just slipped to none. What a letdown, but let's face it, that's been his story throughout his working life.
Must have been busy in the pisser...
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves, he was Vera's Chief of Staff. She was the last Get Stuff Done mayor we've had. I wonder what that version of Sam would think of this one.
ReplyDelete"She was the last Get Stuff Done"
DeleteYES, but most of it was bad. Anti-car. Increasing density.
She got done what Neil told her to.
DeleteAnd she also said he could probably "recover" from raping the baby sitter,,,
