How quickly they turn
The East Coast media drive me nuts. Especially the New York Times. They relentlessly hounded poor Biden out of running for re-election, and when it was over, they still couldn't sit back and enjoy their victory:
So the Times wanted anybody but Joe, and they got Harris. But they didn't give her even a week before the sniping began in earnest. First there was:
With friends like the Times, Harris doesn't need enemies.
The Washington Post isn't any better. After Trump's racist rantings about Harris's race before the Black journalists convention yesterday, here's how the Post decided to spin it:
Harris needs the print media support the have a chance. The media might be gun shy because of her last three years. But, they’ll get over it when push comes to shove.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a freebie for the press — if, despite their best efforts to torpedo her, she wins, she won’t retaliate in the least. And if Mango Mussolini wins, they’re going to be happy with their skyrocketing readership again (which melted down after 2021 when it became possible to go whole weeks without thinking constantly about the presidency). And they’ll be able to grovel to their masters by showing how tough they were on KH.
ReplyDeleteThe Dem's attack shifted to the "weird" attack because the "threat to democracy" angle offered would have been turned back against Harris. Trump won every GOP primary in 2024, whereas she wasn't even on the ballot.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't let her speak without a teleprompter they have a pretty good chance. And they better decide pretty quick is she black or south Indian. The Kameleon tried doing a speech in front of a black audience a while ago using fake ghetto speech and she took a big beating from the black community for that charade.
ReplyDeleteWait, is Trump Scottish or German, he better decide soon. And the there’s his kids. Are they Slovenian or Czech? This ethnic identity paradigm is just so confusing. Or maybe it only bothers you when it impacts skin tone.
