Here are the winners of this year's underdog game

On the last day of this year's charity pro football underdog game, the big 'dog lost and the little 'dog won. But it didn't change anything at the top of our scoreboard. Here are our season winners, and the amounts they'll now get to designate to eligible charities (as defined by the rules, here):

1. Gordon - $365

2. Stephen F. - $115

3. Shoeshine Boy - $90

Gents, if you would please send the name (and preferably the address, too) of your designated charity to dogpdx23@gmail.com, I'll get the checks out right away. And I'll update this post later with the names of the charities.

Our final standings wound up thus:

Some interesting statistics: Last year's winning scores were quite a bit lower: 54.5, 44.5, and 42.5. This year Gordon had the most winning 'dogs with 12; last year the top score in that regard was 11. This year's longest winning streak was by Shoeshine Boy, who strung together five in a row in Weeks 9 through 13. The biggest 'dog picked by a player this time around was Annie B.'s 13½-point score with Tennessee at Miami in Week 13.

Thanks to everybody who played the game, lo, these 21 weeks. It's been fun. We'll do it again next year, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. 'Dogs rule!

UPDATE, January 31: The charities who are this year's ultimate winners are here.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
