Surprise

It takes a heck of a lot to get me to sit through a punk album. But this one, which is new, is actually good. Just hardcore enough.

I thought I'd sample a few tracks, then turn off the noise and go on with other things. Instead I wound up listening all the way through. It's a hoot, although not safe for work in any way, shape, or form.

The Dwarves, Concept Album.

I wouldn't dare go to it, but they're playing in Portland on New Year's Eve Eve. Tell the kids.

  1. Haven’t they been around for years? I seem to remember their antics. I was in at the very start of Portland punk, but more of an observer. I remember going to the original Urban Noize club and seeing stuff like The Cleavers and The Wipers. Strange times indeed.

I kinda lost interest once the skinheads came on the scene, though I did know quite a few of those types from friends bands. Most of them were pretty harmless and also liked hard rock stuff.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
