Start giving out your palm print

Kick things off by giving it to good old Jeff Bezos, who has only your best interests at heart. What could go wrong?

  1. Was a time when the people in neighborhood businesses knew me and my family members by sight.

We’ve become a digit that fits into computer software.

  2. There was a time, not too long ago, that Freddy's would take your check with NO ID. Well, maybe the 70's was actually a long time ago....

    1. There was an even earlier time that ended in the 1960s, when if you went to the store without your checkbook, the store would give you a preprinted “counter check,” which you would fill in with your name and address and the name of your bank and then use to pay for your groceries. I saw Venerable Mom do it at Albertson’s.

    2. I remember buying cigarettes for my mom with a check, and also a hand-written note saying that they were for her. I don’t remember the “counter checks” though. That was before my time.

  3. So I can just bring in some fat cat's palm and get free groceries? Just asking for a friend.

  4. When hell freezes over! Like I'm going to give Bezos my biometric info just so I don't have to rummage around to find my card (which is actually why some people are pleased with this development, may natural selection take them out).

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
