I saw Mel Tormé & George Shearing in the mid-1980s sometime at the Paul Masson Winery in Saratoga, CA. It was a late-afternoon/evening show. It had been hot that day but, true to form, the Santa Clara Valley breeze came up and cooled everything off. It was a great show...with Benny Goodman doing a guest spot on a couple of tunes (we saw Benny Goodman Sextet the evening after). Those were two of the best evenings out with my sweetie (pre-kids of course)...
