Should have put a ping on it

My ballot for the upcoming tax and lesser-bobblehead election arrived in the mail yesterday. It was several days later than usual, apparently because the Multnomah County elections folks fouled up the printing process this time around.

Another oddity was that I didn't get my usual text message from the county telling me that the ballot was on its way to me. I signed up for that service a few years ago, and I don't remember cancelling my signup. Here's what it looked like last time. The exact same message came in a year ago, too, on April 27.

Is it just me? Did anyone else get the text this time around? And if not, should we expect to be getting the usual text confirmation when they receive our filled-in ballots?

UPDATE, 2:40 p.m.: The alert (and also an email version that I had forgotten about) got here over the lunch hour today – the day after the ballot itself arrived. Better than nothing, I guess. Democracy!

    2. Yup, I got the same notification today by email after receiving my ballot yesterday (and having already filled it out and put back in the mail today).

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
