Little did we know

Mike Schrunk, at one time the longest-running district attorney Portland could ever remember having, died the other day. He was 80 years old.

To be honest, I didn't hold him in such high regard toward the end of his career. Just like I didn't think Vera Katz was a very good mayor. Now is not the time to say why.

But I will say this: Schrunk and Katz were far better at running the place than the people we have now are. A thousand times better. There is no comparison. We didn't realize how good we had it.

  1. Schrunk was a staunch supporter of his father’s reputation.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
