More on sales tax vs. income tax

I don't get into much serious tax policy discussion on this blog, but if my post of yesterday about a national sales tax held any interest for you, I just noticed that the respected Congressional Research Service issued a much more thorough paper on the same subject on Tuesday. You can view or download it here.

The report may make your hair stand on end, but only because it's so dry. That said, it's good information on a topic worth trillions of dollars overall, and potentially many thousands per taxpayer over time. You shouldn't need TurboTax to be a law-abiding American.

  1. Every year a 10% haircut for the next five years or we are doomed. Ain't going to happen, so plan accordingly. The super rich are preparing- they are stealing everything they can before the dollar is worthless.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
