Little green
Sometimes it takes someone from far away to show you something right around the corner. This week's New Yorker has a profile of Ryan Neil, a master of the Japanese art of bonsai. He's based in Warren, up by Scappoose and St. Helens.
If you're not able to get past the paywall for that article, there's more to be read and seen on his websites, here and here.
And Googling around, I see I'm about the last person in the world who's heard of the guy and his remarkable story. Typical.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
