From an old 'dog, a rare bark

It was another fascinating Sunday in our charity pro football underdog game. Seattle scored 5 points for six of our players, and Tennessee brought home 3 for another.

But the biggest news of the day was that the New Jersey Jets won at Pittsburgh, for 3.5 points, and one of our players, Annie B., actually had them. The Jets did not win points for a player in our game at all last year, or the last year we played before that (2012–2013), or the first three weeks this year. It just doesn't happen.

The last time the Jets prevailed as a 'dog with players in our game picking them was in Week 7 of 2011. On October 23 of that year, the Jets won as a home 'dog against San Diego, 27 to 21. Two of our players in those days, Weavmo and Bayou Baby, picked up 2 points each. San Diego! Wow.

Back here in the future, we still have three 'dognosticators trying for 2.5 with the Rams over the Niners tonight. They're marked with red asterisks on our the Monday morning standings:

The oddsmakers are getting sharper now that we're a month into this, and so the challenges grow. But hey, like the Schonz always pointed out, "Nobody said it was gonna be easy."

UPDATE, Monday night: The Monday night 'dog did not prevail, and so forget the asterisks, these are the final standings after Week 4.
