55 years later to the day we got The Donald, the first flowering of the poisoned seed planted in 2000 with the Brooks Bros. Riot stopping the count in Florida and the subsequent selection of GW Bush (and his appointments), by way of gutting the voting rights MLK fought so hard for. And this year, in November, we will find out whether there are enough Americans left who value democracy in America to withstand the GOP. If not, then we follow Weimar Germany and Orban’s Hungary out of democracy and into fascism.
