Happy solstice

It is now officially winter. The earth has stopped tilting us away from the sun for a while. The days will now get longer. Let's hope they get better. It goes without saying that we should all try to help.

  1. Thanks, Jack. Happy Winter Solstice to you, too.

  2. Sorry, but I disagree. It has been 'officially' winter since November 1. The solstices and equinoxes are the midpoints of their respective seasons. Brush up on your Shakespeare. My understanding is that winter will be 'officially over' come Ground Hogs Day (aka Imbolc)...the first week of February. So, the solstice is Midwinter.

At least re-enlightenment has begun. That's always hopeful. Best to you and yours on this day.

Axial tilt is the reason for the season!

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
