Comfortably numb

I guess headlines like this one, from KGW yesterday, are supposed to get us riled up:

Instead, one reader remarked, "Kinda low, isn't it?"

  1. If Richmond, CA is any indication;

    gangs & turf wars, stripped out/burned out cars on milk crates that slowly ooze down and melt as the easterly sun hits them ~ daybreak in the Iron Triangle, oil refinery & scrap piles catching fire at the pier, and the police come out once it quiets down with their chalk outlines on the pavement every mid-moring...maybe there's some lights and sirens here and there before the nights activities really get going.

    Ohhh memory lane as a snow-bird winter working vacation visiting life-long Oregonian/upper PNW resident that was nomadic off & on.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
