A Roomba for wrongdoing
When Portland got all into defunding its police – a lot of good that's done – the City Council hilariously resolved to hire two dozen park rangers instead. Alas, the new rangers didn't do anything to stop the latest fatal shooting from going down the other night in a city park.
Here's something they're trying out in L.A.: Parks there are being patrolled by robots with 360-degree cameras. The cops get to see what's happening without leaving their comfy chairs. They love that.
Should Portland spend some of its millions in newly found money on some of these babies? Heck, at this point anything would be worth a try in our lawless city. We now have all the big city problems but none of the big city benefits.
The best part: no robocop union.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
