The blue sellout is under way

We're not even eight months into Biden Time, and already the lofty goals of the left are being kicked into the ditch by the Democratic Party "moderates." Today we learn that Joe Manchin, the Senator from Coal, is now in charge of climate change legislation. God help us.

Meanwhile, over on the tax side, nobody really knows what the heck is going on. The White House has a plan. Richard Neal of Massachusetts, the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, has different ideas. And Oregon's own (supposedly), Ron "Not That Park Avenue" Wyden, chair of the Senate Finance Committee, is spouting all sorts of crazy stuff that will never go anywhere.

This week old Ron's going to rewrite partnership tax. This is what he always does: one goofball idea after another that nobody else is even paying attention to, much less supporting. It provides excellent cover for the suppression of a progressive agenda. The phrase "useful idiot" was invented for the guy.

When not much gets done under Biden, a lot of people will buy the line that the Democrats were well-intentioned, but just incompetent. I call b.s. on that. The 1% has this country by the gonads, Democrats included, and this is what we get, even from the supposed left.

When the blue Boomers die off, I hope history holds them in the contempt they so richly deserve. But of course, nowhere near the ignominy that the Republicans deserve. That crowd is nothing but a vicious death cult. It's too bad that the Dems are such hypocrites.
