It's a 'dog's life

Let me put in one last pitch for our charity pro football underdog game. There's still time to enter, and although you missed the first week, even the best 'dog pickers in our current slate of 19 players racked up only 6½ points, and several got big fat 0's. There are 20 weeks to go. It's anybody's game at this point.

Underdog is the contest in which readers try, every week, to pick a pro football team that will win its game outright, despite being predicted by the professional oddsmakers to lose. If your underdog wins, you get the number of points they were favored to lose by. The player with the most points at the end of the season (including the playoffs) is the winner.

There is a modest entry fee, and all of it goes to charity. The winner gets to pick the eligible charity that gets most of the dough, and the second-place finisher gets to designate an eligible charity to get a smaller amount.

The complete rules are here. If you want to play, just send an email to dogpdx21@gmail.com, and I'll give you further instructions. Your pick for this weekend is due by 10:00 Sunday morning.

Okay, that's my last sales pitch. It's been fun so far, and let's hope the 'dogs continue to make us happy.

  1. Maybe I can encourage my wife to play. She knows football and loves dogs.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
