It's all relative

Lately a lot of people I know are saying something like, "Damn those people who won't get vaccinated." Usually it's accompanied by something like, "Because of them we can't travel," or "Because of them we can't go to a show," or "Because of them we can't eat inside at a restaurant."

Hello! Think of all the people who for decades have been saying "Because of them I can't marry the person I love," or "Because of them I'll never get a decent education," or "Because of them I can't go to a doctor or afford my medicine."

It's mostly the same "them," just more "we."
