116.6°

We hit a new all-time record high outdoor air temperature today in Portland, for the third day in a row. At 5:30 p.m. local time, it was 47 degrees Celsius at the airport:

I don't know my Celsius from my cream soda, but Siri tells me what it means in Farenheit:

So conservatively, it was 116, but rounded to the nearest whole degree, it was 117.

And thank God, it's over, at least for this time around. It's 81 on the front porch here at Blog Central just before 11 p.m., and you almost want to put on a sweater. That's a 35 degree drop in less than six hours.
