Failure? There's an app for that.

I'm generally a fan of the Portland city auditor's office. The rascals in City Hall need all the watchdogging they can get. But sometimes the auditing is like a critique of the deck chair arrangements on the Titanic.

Today I got an example. It's an email explaining that the city's homeless camp cleanup "program" is making progress toward better data collection and communication with the public.

Remember, when you're racing toward hell, be smart with your data. And when you're doing nothing to solve a problem, be sure to keep the neighbors up to date on all the nothing that you're doing.

Classic Portlandia.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
