At least there was music
On a Facebook group page for us aging Portlandians, radio legend Bob Ancheta has posted a list of concerts and similar events held at the Memorial Coliseum between 1961 and 1988. It's an interesting read. Who knew the Turtles would be such a big act?
But what really got me was the rest of the lineup for 1968.
It was a crazy moment in our nation's history, to be sure. George Wallace came to town – well, isn't that Portland 1968? But then Jimi Hendrix cleansed the palate. And the Chambers Brothers for Christmas. It must have been quite a... time!

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
