I was fortunate to hear him play on an Eric Clapton tour. Generally an organ or piano is much less expressive than a guitar or sax because you can't bend the notes, but Billy Preston could bring it to life like no other. Just the solo on "Get Back" would be enough to put him in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
