    2. That cop is truly a bastard. He deserves whatever is coming to him.

  2. Last night was a final leap into the imagery I've seen my whole life in places like Beirut, Gaza, Syria, and Bahrain. I always thought it was the ultimate nightmare image of a broken down society: a shooting victim who is clearly dying or near death is carried by a bunch of frantic civilians - one on each limb - as they run towards a hospital or maybe a pickup truck. No high tech ambulances, no security forces...just the pathetic sight of a young man with his head bouncing around as others from the crowd violently jostle him. I saw one on TV once from Syria where you could see that most of the victim's head was blown off and yet as he went by you could see his tongue still moving. The poor bastard was still alive. Last night in Kenosha, Wisconsin you had the final leap into the Middle East. The frantic wrapping of the head and then the civilians picking the body up and starting to run. We should pay attention to this image. No matter how much we believe in American Exceptionalism, we are just like other parts of the world - or could be - if this thing really gets away from us. It's encouraging that Mayor Wheeler and Governor Brown finally seem interested, but I bet it's driven by the fact that these riots are hurting the Dems numbers. Even CNN's Don Lemon finally admitted that. It's probably the only reason they've changed course from this "Summer of Love" "Peaceful Protesters" bullshit. Their election strategy did not work. Now I just hope it isn't too late to turn back from all out sectarian violence. We could lose this country in the next few months is this breaks bad. We should all think about what's at stake because once it goes Middle Eastern, look out. It could be many, many years before it calms down again.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
