The sauce on the spaghetti

Farewell to composer Ennio Morricone, whose soundtracks to Italian cowboy movies have aged well – so beautiful and haunting. Much better than the films themselves. Ennio made it to age 91.

  1. Not to mention the extraordinary soundtrack to the very fine 1986 motion picture "The Mission," which he scored. Per Wikipedia: "The work combines liturgical chorales, native drumming, and Spanish-influenced guitars, often in the same track, in an attempt to capture the varying cultures depicted in the film." Much of it is haunting. All of it is excellence. RIP, sir.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
