Honey, they shrunk the tax code (sort of)

My copy of the latest version of the Internal Revenue Code arrived the other day, and I'm just now getting it out of the shrink wrap and taking it for a spin. Right off, I notice that the two volumes, although still potentially bone-breaking if you dropped one on your foot, are quite a bit skinnier than the Code of just four months earlier.

The old Code is on the right in this photo, and the new one's on the left:

So did the tax law get simplified somehow?

Of course not, silly. They made the pages bigger, the font smaller, and the margins skinnier.

  1. It's not just the pages, font and margins that they changed this year.
They also used tighter loops to illustrate the loopholes.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
