No safety or surprise

The United States military is threatening the Pope.

The vice president of the United States is in Hungary campaigning hard for the re-election of a dictator and crony of Putin.

The war crimes continue. As do the dangerous rants.

The mainstream media in the United States is normalizing all of it.

The stock market isn't worried about any of it.

His goons will never renounce him.

The chances of it all working out in the end are zero.

We find ourselves now in the dark that lies beyond tragedy.

  1. Were we any order nation, we’d be talking about sanctions and peacekeepers. The World Cup would have already moved to England or Germany. Same with the Olympics. But the world order depends on a strong United States at its center. That version of the United States, the one that, as my history professor Jay Mullen once put it, ‘bestrode the planet like a colossus’, is gone.

Tuesday was a soul crusher for me. We all just looked at our phones, horrified, as we accepted there was no stopping this thing. We’re not going to turn it back. We can: we won’t. Mortgages need to be paid. 401k accounts need to be fed. Just let us know when the next No Kings thing is and, as long as there’s nothing else happening that weekend, we’ll be there. We’ll keep calling Wyden and Merkley to let them know I’m behind them 100%.

All that’s left to do now is wait for the crash. Let’s see how long it takes.

  2. The US in in denial that they can no longer call the shots in the world by pushing people around with military force. And that is a good thing. How many millions have we killed or wounded with wars based on lies? How much treasure have we wasted on these stupid conflicts? And why do we keep doubling down on stupid? As long as the Israel crowd can bribe, blackmail, or kill our political class to get its way, this is going to continue until we are dead broke and morally bankrupt.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog2@gmail.com and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
