Portraits of the artist as a young man

If you're as intrigued as I am about the late John Clem Clarke, the Oregon native who went on to become an important figure in Pop Art in the Big Apple, you might get a kick out of all these photos of his time as a young dude in Oregon. They are compiled by the Salem Statesman-Journal.

  1. John was not only a trend setting artist but also a great athlete. He accepted a ride to OSC but later transferred to Uof O. He went to the Rose Bowl with the Beavers but his senior year was a member of Len Casonova's Duck squad that went to thee Rose Bowl. A really talented and funny guy in the late 1950's.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
